One night i dreamed that i painted a large american flag jasper johns johns created this american flag on canvas he had covered in strips of newspaper that are visible in places under the paint the flag has 48 stars this flag was the official for 47 years longer than any other flag and was the official flag when the painting was created the united states of america flag currently has 50 stars and came into use in 1960
