This ex105 model is a 12 volt dc powered version of the keyswitch operated ex104 exitguard it cannot be powered from batteries it is ideally suited for linking into systems such as intruder alarms or access controls via the integral volt free relay contacts the hoyles ex105 is 12vdc powered for use where the protected door may be opened frequent
