Polperro is a very pretty village and fishing harbour on the south east coast of cornwall a popular tourist destination indeed tourism became the main industry during the twentieth century for centuries previously the village had been a pilchard fishing and processing port but the shoals of fish diminished and by the 1960s it was no longer the main income for the village however commercial fishing vessels still operate out of the small harbour catching a variety of fish and seafood
