Product Description
The Michelin Primacy 3 tyres are suitable for sports cars and allow you to drive at high speeds.
Michelin Primacy 3 225/45 R18 91W
- Good handling thanks to the asymmetric tread pattern
- run-flat tyre
- Rim protection thanks to rim protection strip
Elementary features
As a summer tyre from Michelin, the Primacy 3 meets all the requirements for driving in warmer temperatures. Unlike car tyres for winter use, summer tyres have better traction and less wear and tear in the summer months.
The tyre cross-section - also known as the height-to-width ratio - is the second number in the label. For this seasonal tyre, the ratio is 45%. It is conducive to sporty driving and reliability. However, due to the low tyre sidewall, this type of tyre is also less likely to contribute to suspension and comfort.
In connection with the tyre width, the rim width must be balanced, as the car tyre is mounted on the rim. A compatible width would be ideal, but the standard allows car tyres to have varying rim widths. With a tyre width of 225 mm and 18" rim diameter, a rim width of 7.5 inches would be feasible.
A tyre for sporty driving
This car tyre is approved for a maximum speed of 270 km/h . This can be recognised by the W symbol on the sidewall. The registration certificate contains a guideline value that cannot be reduced by the car tyre specification.
If you get a flat tyre, the runflat feature will help you to get away. Here, the tyre has been optimised so that it can carry the mass of the vehicle for a certain period of time. Although the driving speed and driving style must be adapted, the change can be delayed for a while. Important: A runflat should only be fitted by specialised personnel.
If, for example, you hit the gutter when starting off, the rim protection protects you from bitter surprises. A very robust tyre lip with a steel wire core protrudes functionally over the outer tyre sidewall, preventing wear and serving as tyre protection at the same time.
The thick car tyres, which are also designed for speed, ensure good contact and can also cope with bumps. They allow a sporty riding technique, especially on courses designed for this purpose.
