Important features
As a summer tyre from Pirelli, the Cinturato P7 meets the requirements for driving at higher temperatures. Unlike car tyres for winter use, seasonal tyres have better asphalt contact and less wear in appropriate weather conditions.
The tyre cross-section is also referred to as the height-to-width ratio. In the label, it is the number after the tyre width. For this summer tyre, the ratio is 45%. It suits a sporty driving style and stability. However, due to the low sidewall, such a seasonal tyre should not contribute so much to suspension and comfort function.
In connection with the tyre width, the rim width should be adjusted, as the car tyre is mounted on the rim. Although the standard admits that most car tyres can be mounted on rims of different widths, a more advantageous result is achieved with the width prescribed for the car tyre. With a tyre width of 225 mm and a 17" rim diameter, a rim width of 7.5 inches would be feasible.
A tyre for sporty driving
This car tyre is approved for a maximum speed of up to 300 km/h , which you can see from the letter Y on the side of the tyre. The vehicle documentation contains a guide value that cannot be undercut by the information on the tyre sidewall.
The thick tyres, specially designed for speed, provide good grip and can also cope with bumps. They mainly favour a faster riding technique on routes designed for this purpose.
