Size and tread pattern
The Cinturato P7 from Pirelli is designed for seasonal requirements from spring to autumn. Unlike winter tyres, seasonal tyres have better traction and less tyre wear in warm weather
The tyre cross-section is also known as the height-to-width ratio. In the labelling, it is the number after the tyre width. The Cinturato P7 compared here has a tyre cross-section of 40%. This is conducive to sporty driving behaviour and safety. However, due to the low sidewall, such a tyre can also contribute less to suspension and comfort.
The tyre is installed on the rim, which is why the width of the tyre and the rim should match. Although the standard allows most car tyres to be fitted on rims of different widths, a more advantageous result is achieved with the width specified for the tyre. With a tyre width of 245 mm and a 19" rim diameter, a rim width of 8.5 inches would be possible.
Sporty driving
This car tyre is approved for a maximum speed of up to 300 km/h . This is indicated by the letter Y on the side of the tyre. The vehicle registration document contains a reference value that must not be reduced by the car tyre specification.
The Runflat feature prevents the vehicle from becoming immobile in the event of a flat tyre. For a certain period of time, the additionally reinforced tyre ensures that a ride is guaranteed. Although the speed and riding technique must be adjusted, the replacement can be delayed for a while. Caution: A run-flat tyre should only be fitted by specialists.
The wide car tyres, which are also designed for speed, achieve good grip and can also cope with ground faults. They favour a fast driving experience primarily on courses designed for this purpose.
