Product Description
The Roberts Stream 93i is a portable, table top radio that works like a traditional radio, and can connect to both the internet and other devices such as smartphones and tablets. Playing music from your personal library or from internet stations is possible, making this a very handy little unit.
WiFi enabled, the Stream 93i can connect wirelessly to your smartphone, for instance, and essentially act as speaker or amplifier for your tunes stored there. It is also compatible with online streaming services such as Spotify. Users note that the Stream 93i is very straightforward to use and many are impressed by the sheer number of both local and internet radio stations available to listen to. Radio channels from other countries, not just from the UK, can also be enjoyed as the unit boasts DAB+ technology, too.
Music and stations aside, the Stream 93i also functions as a regular clock radio alarm clock, and is equipped with 2 alarms. Facilities it does not feature include an iPod dock, an iPod charger port or a 3.5 mm auxiliary input; this type of input would usually be used for hooking up an MP3 player to the device.
Equipped with a 3 way speaker system, one of which boosts the bass sounds thanks to an integrated sub woofer, the radio offers decent sound quality. The design of the whole system is modern, but it still has a retro touch to it; the digital screen is surround by controls in the form of buttons and knobs. A sleek remote control that comes with the Stream 93i, though it can also be controlled via a smartphone app from the manufacture called the Robert's Connector App. The digital screen on the front of the unit displays the time and stations available for browsing. You can keep up to 100 of your favourite stations saved on the display menu, for quick and easy access.
Overall, this is a very handy device and a great all-rounder. If you are looking for a radio that can play from different sources such as your online library, internet radio or streaming services, as well as the usual local stations, then the Roberts Stream 93i is well worth a look.

4,5/54,5/5Review summary: Tester says this is the best and easiest to use internet radio, but admits a battery pack would have been nice to make it totally portable. The wooden case enhances the sound and as well as two alarms, there's a sleep timer so you can fall asleep to your favourite tunes. Tester likes the selection process where you can narrow down the stations more effectively and find what you're looking for more quickly.

5/55/5Review summary: This radio won Product of the Year 2014 thanks to its fine sound. The large, clear screen and articulate buttons are definite plus points. You can play music directly from a USB stick and because Spotify Connect is built in you can control the music using your smartphone or tablet. The setup is easy and you're guided though every step. Tester believes it's great value for money, but would prefer if it had a Bluetooth connection.
