The Hexy Hexapod from Seeed Studio includes everything you need to build your own 6-legged robot, there's even a spare leg! The legs are fully articulated with 3 x servos each (18 servos) and Hexy is 305mm wide by 178mm long depending on how you pose it. In front it has a servo-mounted ultrasonic distance sensor to avoid collisions and scan its environment. An Arduino based Servotor32 robot controller is part of the kit which is capable of controlling 32 servos. With so much articulation Hexy is capable of a very wide range of movements, walking, dancing, waving and everything in between. Open source software is available for download to manage the Servotor32 board and many examples of how to use it are available online. There's also the PoMoCo software (Position Motion Controller) which simplifies scripting of movements for Hexy; available to download from Github.
